Uniondale, NY Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., has formed a land use and environmental practice group, combining its zoning/land use and environmental law practice groups into an integrated cross-disciplinary unit to be chaired by Christopher Murray, Esq.

"Real estate development applications and zoning changes do not occur in a vacuum and in today's world are often intertwined with environmental litigation and regulatory challenges," said Adam Silvers, RMF managing partner.

"With more than 25 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, real estate, municipal affairs and environmental law, Chris Murray is uniquely qualified to oversee our innovative initiative to combine these traditionally stand-alone practice areas," Silvers said.

"RMF has been able to help maximize the value of our clients' real estate investments through our expertise in litigation, land use, zoning, and environmental matters, and will continue to meet the requirements of our clients by bringing these disciplines together into a seamlessly integrated practice area," said Eric Rubenstein, partner and co-chair of the real estate department with Benjamin Weinstock. RMF's real estate clients include many leading Long Island and New York metropolitan area developers, property owners, partnership interests and commercial and residential cooperatives.

Murray, a RMF partner, received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and B.A., summa cum laude, from SUNY Albany. He has counseled clients on environmental laws and regulation in connection with real estate transactions. As a commercial litigator, environmental and zoning attorney his experience includes federal and state litigation, arbitration, and administrative hearings on a variety of matters, including SEQRA compliance and Article 78 proceedings.

Murray served on the Town of North Hempstead Board of Zoning and Appeals from 2005 to 2011, was a member of the Nassau County Open Space and Parks Advisory Committee and is past President of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, an umbrella organization of over 40 local chambers representing 6,000 small businesses.

"Helping our clients realize the full development potential of their investments requires our Land Use and Environmental Practice Group to navigate the complex municipal approval process while avoiding or overcoming environmental challenges that often arise, and I look forward to working with our team on this innovative new practice approach," Murray said.
